Capacitance of a partially filled parallel plate capacitor

For a capacitor, whatever insulator goes between conductor plates, is a dielectric. If one dielectric material fills up half the thickness between plates, the other half is air, and you have a mixed dielectric capacitor.

You can calculate the capacitance value by considering two capacitors in series, each having the thickness of individual dielectric thickness. Watch these two videos to learn more...
